“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”Matthew 25:40

I tend to agree with the sentiment in this quote from an earlier post post shared on Roslyne Smith’s timeline:

Janita Boulton:  “There is nothing more important than how we treat animals. It is the most important thing. If we can’t tread on a snail… then we are hardly likely to behead a cow. And if we can’t behead a cow – then we will not decapitate our unborn babies. If we won’t kill the innocent and the helpless – then we wouldn’t start wars, or do anything that may aggravate a political situation – that would make a war necessary.”

Putting the Lord and His agenda first, as in this demon infested world, the Lord must maneuver within the mine field that we are in as well, and being Sovereign, who better to trust and follow the lead of.  For God never slumbers and is always shaping what Satan means for evil into something of value for the Kingdom of God.  Yahweh is always working to advance His kingdom, as must we.

None of what happens to the “least of these”, in this case the animal kingdom, is any less important than what happens within the rest of His creation.  His perfect will is for Shalom.  Jesus established His kingdom upon earth, and we are to manifest it.

Shalom

From an earlier post (“Peace“):  God’s original intention was that ALL creation should experience Shalom.  It was our duty in the Garden of Eden to look after and guard the earth and the animal kingdom, and see to it that Shalom remained the state of being for ALL, including the animal kingdom.  It was our very first “job description!”  And, it still is our job description.  Though Satan is the ruler of this world (John 12:21) and the kingdom of darkness permeates all our experiences on earth now, we are all free to choose Jesus and the Kingdom of Light.  When we do, we are empowered to live on the earth, in as much as is possible today, as He truly intended us, and this means, we can extend Shalom to the animal kingdom.  We take this on as our “job description” once again!  (For more detail on how to live out God’s kingdom on earth now, see the link above on “Peace” as well as here and here)
