“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.” ~Isaiah 61:1-4

I think this is an excellent new years verse, full of promise and of the power and vision that Christ came to give us. These verses from Isaiah inform us, as does the following verse, that we are:

“more than conquerors through him who loved us. …[he promises and we can be] convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:37-39

Happy New Year everyone!

May this year be the year that animal welfare and shepherding all God’s creatures and the earth becomes a mainstream subject and concern in our churches, world wide!!!

May this year be the year that the creation no longer needs to wait for the sons and daughters, but that they will be revealed!! “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19

May this be the year that what divides the church will be eliminated: “For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity–the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5

May this year be the year that we will completely be the ambassadors, reconcilers alongside Christ, the Good News of the Gospel for ALL creation that the entire world and most certainly non-humans needs to see:

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 1 Corinthians 5:20

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, …” Ephesians 4:1-6;24 …. May THIS be our new years resolution!!! AMEN

 Praise be to God!

My calling as a Child of the Creator is to take the Gospel, as it relates to the WHOLE creation, to the world; and to remind the Church of its Biblical responsibilities to non-human animals and the earth.
